DENIS RECENDEZ

A life-long Los Angeles County resident, Denis Recendez is a single-payer healthcare activist who believes that healthcare is a human right. His organizing for healthcare justice began with the 2016 Bernie Sander Presidential campaign. Since then, he has fought for single-payer legislation on the state and federal level, as well as helped the campaigns of those running for public office who also fight for healthcare justice.

Denis is an elected delegate to the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (2020-2024), and well as an appointed member to the California Democratic Party (2021-2023), where he continues to push the party towards enacting a single-payer healthcare program (e.g., expanded and improved Medicare For All). He is also the Outreach Coordinator for the San Gabriel Valley Progressives and a former co-chair of the Healthcare Justice Committee of DSA-LA.
